Napoli managed seven shots on target in Saturday 5 September's 3-2 defeat at Inter — the most they have had in an away game at San Siro since Sofascore started tracking the data in 2014.
The context matters. Napoli led 2-0 early in the second half through Politano (50') and Höjlund (53'), before Lautaro Martinez (56'), Thuram (82') and Martinez again (90') turned the game around. Inter still had the better of the shot count overall, 29 to 16, and led 8-7 on target. Napoli went close to a third goal more than once without finding it.

A record like that, in a defeat that squandered a two-goal lead, does not change the verdict on the night: Napoli could attack San Siro but could not defend the scoreline, and five goals conceded in the last two matches remain the real problem — one head coach Allegri admitted himself after the game. Arsenal visit the Maradona on Wednesday 9 September, and Napoli will need the same attacking threat without repeating the late collapse.
