Fiorentina sack Fabio Grosso after three straight defeats
The club dismissed the head coach following a home defeat to Torino, with Napoli due at the Franchi in two rounds' time.
Fiorentina have sacked Fabio Grosso after three defeats in three Serie A games, nine goals conceded and only one scored, capped by a 1-2 home loss to Torino. The club confirmed the decision in a statement: "ACF Fiorentina announces that Fabio Grosso has been relieved, as of today, of his role as head coach of the men's first team."
The Fiorentina board must now move quickly to find a successor, with the club hosting Napoli at the Franchi in two rounds' time. Thiago Motta, who has managed Bologna and Juventus, is the name mentioned most, though he is not the only one under consideration — no final decision has been made.
