Dovbyk ends goal drought, warns Napoli ahead of Maradona trip

The Bologna striker scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Sassuolo after months of struggle, and is already looking ahead to facing Napoli on 13 September.

Artem Dovbyk has ended a difficult spell with his first goal for Bologna, a stoppage-time strike in a 2-2 draw with Sassuolo. The Ukrainian striker had struggled with injury and a tough spell at Roma before his move to the rossoblù.

"Those were really difficult months, I've finally gone back to scoring and enjoying my football," Dovbyk said after the match. "I don't like being fake, today is a day of joy in my heart."

Bologna travel to the Maradona on Sunday 13 September for Serie A's fourth round, and Dovbyk is already targeting Napoli. "We just have to believe and hope for a bit more luck next time, against Napoli," he said, throwing down a challenge to Allegri's side. Napoli arrive off the back of a 3-2 defeat at San Siro that leaves them 12th on 3 points from three games, having conceded five goals in their last two matches — a fact Allegri himself admitted after the game. A centre-forward rediscovering form and hunger on the eve of that trip is bad news for a Napoli defence still finding its shape.
