Napoli offered €20m for Galatasaray's Sara, bid rejected
Talks over the Brazilian midfielder never got going in the summer window: Istanbul wanted €30m and Napoli's bid fell well short.

Napoli made a €20m offer for Gabriel Sara, Galatasaray's Brazilian midfielder, before the window closed on Tuesday 1 September, but the Turkish club turned it down.
Galatasaray had set their valuation at €30m and refused to negotiate seriously below that figure, with Napoli and other European clubs who had shown interest. Sara, who joined from Norwich City two years ago, is under contract until 2029 and will stay in Istanbul for at least this season.

It's another midfielder Napoli chased and missed, in a department still short of a genuine replacement for McTominay after a window that also saw the Gatti move fall through and finished with a net spend of -€47.5m.
