Scott McTominay was operated on in England on Tuesday morning. The Scotland midfielder underwent a cardiac ablation procedure at Spire Manchester Hospital, and the club say the operation was a complete success. He now faces roughly two weeks of rest before returning to training.
McTominay had already missed Saturday's 3-2 at San Siro after the club revealed the heart arrhythmia behind the procedure, with his absence estimated at a month or more. Talks over his contract, which runs to 2027, remain stalled between his agents and the club.

With McTominay out for Wednesday's Champions League opener against Arsenal, attention in midfield also turns to Tuesday's fitness test at Castel Volturno (the training ground) for Frank Anguissa, who came off tired at San Siro. If he is ruled out, Billy Gilmour is ready to step in.
